Bicycles

Keegan and Kelsey have gotten really into bike riding lately.  Usually they ride in the driveway (and occasionally down the hill in the backyard,) but we have also had the opportunity to take their bikes out a few times.  I love that they are enjoying their bikes so much.  And I love the mountains in these pictures.
Kelsey's bike has ladybugs on the wheels :)!
Keegan is learning how to change gears - something I never learned myself.
And she's learning it on an 18 speed!
Ready to take off on a ride.  So cute and sweet :).

St. Patrick's Day!

It's that time again - time for our yearly family tradition of finger painting with green whipped cream.  Bill was out of town and missed him this year.  Poor him, missing out on all the yummy fun.

Kelsey starting out.
The shower caps are new this year - Keegan and Kelsey didn't want to wash their hair.
Actually, they were all quite tidy this year.
I can't decide if that's handy (it is) or heartbraking (which it is because they are growing up so quickly :'(   )
Sweet Keegy
Love this picture of my Rosie Posie   :)))))))))

 Best clean-up EVER :)

Yep, crazy and pointless, but a lot of fun!

In honor of the day..

On this, what would have been Harry Houdini's 137th birthday, here are some of our favorite Harry Houdini facts.

*He loved flying and wanted to be known as an aviator, but felt that most flying "firsts" had already been done.  So he went to Australia and to set a flying record there.
*Sometimes right after his handcuffs were put on, he would get them off and hold them, before he was even in the water/trunk/whatever.
*He was an apprentice to a locksmith, where he first learned about locks and handcuffs.
*He could swallow a key and spit it back up into his mouth.
*To become famous in a town, he would go to the police station and ask them to lock him up however they wanted, then he would get free.
*In Germany, they could arrest charlatans, so he performed in front of 300 policemen to get approved to do his show there.
*He would stay behind the curtain if he got out very quickly to make the trick more tense.
*He stipulated in his will that all of his equipment be destroyed after his brother's death.  However, it was instead sold to a collector who opened a museum.  The museum burned in the 1990's.

There you go - your enlightenment for the day :)

Anatomy

Keegan is learning about the human heart this week.  She created some models, using crackers for the 4 chambers of the heart, (naturally) colored cream cheese to represent oxygenated and deoxygenated blood.  Plus arteries and veins made from grapes and raisins.

I think she will remember this lesson for a long time :).

Keegan Quote

Keegan, coming out of her bedroom where she had gone to get dressed, "I forgot I was already dressed until I looked down to see what pajama shirt I was wearing."

Hee, hee.  Sounds like my mornings sometimes.  Except I am more likely to forget I am still in my pajamas! ;-).

Wow!

Three weeks without posting.  I think that's a record for me.  (The problem is my other friend, Facebook, but don't tell blogger, I don't want to hurt it's feelings. Shhhh.)
I'll just jump back in with this beautiful picture...

One night, Kelsey called my cell phone and asked that Caitlyn and I let her know when we were almost home.  We did, and this is the creature that stepped out to greet us.  Oh, my.
Never a dull moment :).

Wow again - somehow I poted this on my old blog first.  I didn't even know I could do that.

Kelsey Quote and update

"I'll just tell you what I am going to be - a Kelsey ice cream cone!"

Well, I have finally joined modern society - I now have a laptop and wireless Internet access (replacing my dial-up.)  I am hoping that will make blogging much easier and hopefully I will get back into posting regularly.  Have a great day!
